This set of furniture comprising sofas, tables and stools was designed for Hogan’s night club in Dublin. The building was built in the late 19th century as part of the South City Markets complex and the fine brickwork is exposed on the interior walls.
The furniture picks up on the brick motif, creating sofas upholstered in orange fabric with button fasteners, the cushions sized according to brick proportions. The tables, in hardwood frames with backlit glass, resemble hod shapes. The stools, bent tubular steel bases with leather upholstered seats, derive their form from bricklayers’ trowels.
